Douglas Valentine has developed a class curriculum that he has taught globally with the primary focus on control and boating safety.

The one-day class can be taught in your boat in your waters or you can attend the class through out the winter season in Sarasota Florida in our Donzi 38 ZRC.

The personalized program will cover all aspects of safe boating laws and equipment requirements, we will teach you the fundamentals needed to perfect docking techniques, mechanical systems review and of course offshore throttling and high speed maneuvering techniques.

This class is designed to give you the “confidence and knowledge” that is needed not just to run your boat fast but to run your boat at speed safely in any conditions you may encounter.

No matter what type of boating you do, after completing this program you will better understand the performance dynamics of your boat and will learn the techniques necessary to improve your level of skill and confidence while piloting your boat.

The techniques you will be taught are the same techniques I have taught several law enforcement agencies and military special operations personal.

Additionally, you will be taught several techniques that have brought us championship winning success in the most extreme conditions of offshore racing.   “Be safe, be in control, be educated”  

08.01.2011- INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE GOES TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Continuing under the 'International Performance' banner, the same company that was founded in 2004 by Douglas Valentine, former Donzi and Wellcraft test driver and Super Vee offshore champion, the Sarasota Florida based company has answered to its clients request and has expanded.

Originally the company was established as the home base and website www.international-performance.com for Valentines 100% hands on two day offshore driving school that has now been taught globaly, however as the company's client base grew, more and more of Valentine's clients suggested if there were a facility that he could store and maintain their boats more directly they would stable their boats within, in response the Sarasota based company now offers 12,000 square feet of secure, insured, fire and security alarmed indoor storage and project space.

In addition the company also provides a full spectrum of specialized marine services which include anything from a simple wash and flush after a weekend poker run or outing to upholstery upgrades, engine repairs, upgrades and installation, complete custom paint work or repair, fiberglass and composite services.

In addition to Valentine's 30 years of test driving and performance marine engineering experience, Mark Bonafide now joins along and combines his 15 years of sales and marketing skills. Valentine states "I think it is important for International Performance to offer a complete package to our clients and Mark is extremely well versed with the performance boat market, he is in the loop with all the manufactures new and used product pricing and technical specs and has the ability to help a client find the right boat or sell and move into the right boat, he has great talent for finding a good deal" Mark will also assist in special projects management and of course customer service.

We are also preparing to host and maintain boats in the winter months for the up north boating community, this gives our northern boating friends the opportunity to venture into our warm Gulf of Mexico waters during their winter season on some of our group trips from our location in Sarasota to Ft Myers or as far south as Key West, we are not trying to become a boat club or poker run club that require an entry fee but we do already have several clients who have committed to a group trip to the Keys as it is always more fun with a few more boats and friends but not necessarily 80 or 100 boats, we prefer to keep things a little less crazy, cost effective and pursue a more personal intimate adventure, you are not left on your own in unknown waters and we'll do all preparations to help assure there will be no technical failures along the way.

It is our intention to network with the existing poker run clubs to inform their members that we are here to work in alience with the club and their members to support their technical and storage needs when in the Florida area, we will host and service their boat before and after the event to help reduce transportation cost and assure their boat is ready for the next event.

Mark and I would also like to suggest to our northern clients to take advantage of our concierge service, this service allows the up north client to arrive and drive, the boat is stored in our facility and then with advanced notice we launch the boat, they fly in, we pick them up and take them to the hotel, they boat in the Gulf for the weekend while staying at the Sarasota Ritz or Hyatt then we retreive the boat, wash, flush, service and store until next time.

Valentine still offers his 100% in the boat, hands on two day driving school and has continued to up date his curriculum to assure all aspects of safety and technical knowlege has been communicated to his clients, Valentine states "the driving school is still my formost passion, I enjoy teaching very much and it feels as rewarding as anything I've ever done or won, to see my clients confidence and respect for the equipment gained by the end of the second day and that smile of accomplishment they give me is as good as any trophy.
